We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news with our Bloom community! As of Friday, 29th May 2026, The Bloom Childcare Group has officially completed the acquisition of Safari Childcare Colchester Limited, based at the King George V Pavilion on Clairmont Road, Lexden.

With this exciting change of ownership, Safari Childcare Colchester Limited will now undergo rebranding and trade as The Bloom Childcare Group Lexden moving forward. This is how we will be officially trading when our doors reopen from September!

We know how vital high-quality, reliable childcare is to local communities, and we are incredibly honoured to take the reins of this wonderful setting. Over the summer, we will be working hard behind the scenes to update the environment, integrate our resources, and prepare the setting for an amazing fresh start.

Our brand-new Lexden setting will officially open its doors to families on Tuesday, 1st September 2026.

Familiar Faces & Expert Standards

We know that consistency is everything when it comes to little ones feeling safe and secure. That’s why we are so happy to announce that the existing staff at the setting are staying with us! They are transferring over to the Bloom family, meaning your children will still see the same friendly, dedicated faces they already know and love.

They will be supported by our Managing Director, Pippa Kaylene (MBA), who brings a wealth of leadership, business management experience ensuring this transaction has been and continues to be a smooth transition for all.

What to Expect This September

When we reopen in September, the setting will be structured to offer tailored, age-appropriate learning and play across two specialised spaces:

• The 0–2 Years Room: A nurturing, sensory-rich environment designed for early development and milestones.

• The 2–5 Years Room: An active, curiosity-driven pre-school space focusing on social skills, confidence, and school readiness.

We will be open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, offering both 38-week term-time contracts and 51-week full-time options (where funding is stretched across the year). To make life easier for families, you can book flexibly by the hour with a minimum of just 3 hours per session.

Completely Transparent, Fee-Free Funding

At Bloom, we passionately believe that premium childcare should be accessible. We are proud to bring our zero supplementary charge policy to Lexden. We fully accept:

• 15 and 30-hour Government Funding

• Working Family Funding

• Tax-Free Childcare

We do not charge top-ups or hidden extras for funded hours. You can use up to 10 funded hours per day meaning if you book a full 7:30 am – 6:00 pm day, you only ever pay out-of-pocket for that final 30 minutes. Find out more about our fees here.
